Goods offered for sale must be outlined in the trader site application form.
Traders must conform to the reasonable requirements of Melbourne Design Market in terms of design, quality, style and appearance of stalls and displays, and anything visible in the marketplace. Items deemed to detract from the appearance of the market must be removed at the request of Melbourne Design Market staff.
It is the responsibility of the trader to ensure they conform to any Australian standards pertaining to their product.
Products with faults must be clearly labeled as seconds.
Receipts - responsibility of trader.
Float - responsibility of trader.
All traders must provide the public with a means of payment other than cash or cheque.
The sale of tobacco, explosives, pornography and animals is prohibited. Pets are not permitted on the premises.
Traders must confine their displays and signs to the site allocated and keep pathways clear for patrons.
Traders using any kind of gas or electrical appliance must have a suitable fire extinguisher or fire blanket.
All rubbish must be taken away by traders. Traders are responsible for leaving their site and surrounding area clean and tidy. Boxes and cartons must be removed from the market area.
Smoking is prohibited in the Federation Square car park.
Loud promotion by traders and amplifiers are not permitted.
Traders are not permitted to begin packing up their site until 5pm.
Vehicles must be parked in the allocated parking area, except during the loading or unloading of goods. Traders must not hinder the access of other traders to their stalls in the delivery or loading of their goods.
Car movement within the market must be with care and consideration of the public. The driver shall be totally and legally responsible for parking and movement of the vehicle. Cars moving in and out of the trading area (during bump-in and out) must have hazard warning lights on at all times and not travel over 5 kmph.
Notification of non attendance is required. A request for a refund must be made in writing at least two weeks prior to the event.
Trader sites cannot be transferred, sub-let or sold to any other person, nor can they be shared without written approval and adequate (visual) indication of what other potential stall holders will offer for sale.
Melbourne Design Market has the right to reject any stall holder whom they believe does not comply with the stated regulations.
Melbourne Design Market accepts no responsibility for theft of or damage to goods.
